Spinal Decompression

Spinal Decompression

Many have paid thousands of dollars for spinal disc decompression with the promise that it is a panacea for their pain. But this highly effective and relatively inexpensive treatment should be used in combination with other rehab therapies for the best results. At Integrated Spine & Disc, we offer a full spinal and rehabilitation program.

What is Decompression Therapy?

Non-surgical spinal decompression is a revolutionary technology used primarily to treat disc injuries in the neck and in the low back. This safe treatment utilizes a special motorized table to apply decompression forces to the spine in a controlled manner. Gentle separation of the vertebrae using spinal decompression therapy allows herniated or bulging discs to be pulled off the nerve root, thereby promoting the diffusion of water, oxygen, and nutrient-rich fluids from the outside of the discs to the inside. These nutrients enable the torn and degenerated disc fibers to begin to heal. The healing process happens microscopically each time, but cumulatively, over four to six weeks, the results are quite dramatic.

Is Decompression Therapy Right for You?

Non-surgical spinal decompression is very effective in treating bulging discs, herniated discs, pinched nerves, sciatica, radiating arm pain, degenerative disc disease, leg pain, and facet syndromes. Proper patient screening is imperative and only the best candidates are accepted for care. Decompression therapy should not be used as a stand-alone treatment. Maximum benefit is achieved when this process is combined with a full spinal and rehabilitation program.

If you or your family members have been struggling with debilitating spinal conditions with little or no relief, then ask yourself the following questions:

  • Are you currently dependent on medications on a daily basis?
  • Are you limited in daily activities?
  • Have you repeated injections or epidurals with little or no relief?
  • Are you considering surgery and are uncomfortable with that choice?
  • Have you already tried traditional chiropractic or physical therapy with limited results?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then non-surgical spinal decompression therapy could very well be the treatment option you are looking for!
